Daily Gratitude:

I would like to express my gratitude for having the energy to get moving today. For being able to talk to my loved ones and appreciate the beautiful life in this village. When I was on my walk today I looked down on the village and had a beautiful outlook on people and nature. My hometown is flat, which has its upsides but it’s beautiful here.

Diary Entry:

Before getting to my logs for today, I would like to apologize for the missed entry yesterday. Yesterday was a fairly boring day. I woke up with little sleep, quite exhausted and was laying in bed the entire day. I did not track calories, did not journal and got 1,000 steps in. Overall an unsuccessful day. Why it happened? I did not have the discipline to get myself up when I had absolutely no energy. As soon as I am back in my hometown I must put more emphasis on sleep to avoid such lows and need to practice my overall discipline to still get my healthy steps in and track calories. Today we are back on track.

Today I woke up with too little sleep again, although better than yesterday! I went for a walk mid-day, around 16:30. One hour for the walk and my lifting session after secured my daily activity. A total of 10,500 steps were above my target of 8,000 steps. My diet was not ideal with 3750 calories. Looking at my dietary patterns, it absolutely makes sense that I weigh too much and am getting low-key fat. I always fall for baits when shopping. Buy things I shouldn’t buy because I crave it. Then I want to finish eating it and so on. In my weekly review we will explore ideas to get more rational here.

Today we also went shopping because my wife’s mother left our home. We had to drive her to the train station and took that opportunity to stock up on groceries. As per usual I stacked up on rather unhealthy foods from cravings. When we came back we went for a walk and I got my workout in. Towards the end we watched a movie. Overall another regular day.

My energy levels are very unstable currently. I think this is partially due to my improper sleep schedule and patterns. I know when I completely lock in, I can get around 7:30H to 8:30H of sleep a day. Soon I will definitely go back to it. Then I hope for my energy levels to be better. Unfortunately I also suspect that my stay here has something to do with it. I don’t fully understand why yet but when I came to Slovakia I immediately felt a little more exhausted. This week my eyes started twitching sometimes and I had a few symptoms of dizziness. Quite the problem, I don’t want any of it to come back. But I believe it has something to do with my increased activity and poor sleep. When I arrive in Germany next week, it will improve quickly.

I am very excited to go for runs very soon. I can’t wait to get my kilometers in and aim for a higher target of a marathon or even more and at the same time build muscle mass. Two goals that often stand in each others way but I am sure to be able to get both done fairly well. Today was a longer entry than usual. But since I skipped yesterday I had a little more to talk about. The weekly review will help me identify patterns and get me more on track to not skip any more days.
